 For its headquarters in EMEA (Kallo), Lawter is looking for a:

 

ASSISTANT ACCOUNTANT (M/V/X) 

We are seeking an assistant account to join our finance team. As an assistant accountant, you will provide assistance to the EMEA finance team, through performing daily accounting tasks and control the accountants receivable ledger to ensure all customer receipts are properly accounted for.

 

Key responsibilities 

Accounting:

  • You are responsible for posting and processing journal entries to ensure all business transactions are recorded on a timely basis.
  • You assist the finance team with the preparation of monthly/yearly closings.
  • You provide support and cover, as necessary, to the regional finance team.
  • You assist in the preparation of the annual external audit.
  • Ad hoc projects.

Accounts Receivable:

  • You process incoming payments.
  • You generate and follow up the financial situation of customers to minimize credit risk.
  • You facilitate payment of invoices due by sending reminders and contacting customers.
  • You reconcile the accounts receivable ledger.
  • You are the back-up of the Accounts Payable administrator. 

Reporting:

  • You prepare and submit mandatory statistics to the relevant authorities in Belgium & the Netherlands.
  • You prepare the account reconciliations for EMEA on a monthly basis.
  • You assist in preparing the monthly reports necessary for the regional overview of the cash situation.
  • You provide assistance in the preparation of quarterly reporting tot global management.

 

Skills/abilities: 

  • A proven experience in finance is required.
  • You have a minimum of 3 years experience in a similar role.
  • You have a good understanding of accounting standards (IFRS) and financial reporting principles and practices.
  • Proficiency in SAP & Microsoft Office PC applications with focus on Excel are a must.
  • You have advanced oral and written communication skills.
  • You are able to communicate in English.
